My serial communication project involves manipulating the speed of the moving objects in my Objects Oriented arts piece. Using serial communication, the audience can now increase or reduce the speed of movement along the X and Y axes independently.
On the Arduino side of things, I read the values of two potentiometers. These are then mapped in processing for them to have a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 10.
The biggest challenge in this project was making it so the moving objects would not get ‘stuck’ when the speed was re-set every frame.
